TV presenter Griff Rhys Jones praised the fantastic work of PLANED, during a recent visit to Pembrokeshire when he launched the redesigned website which features the extensive work of this community led development organisation.
Griff said PLANED’s work in supporting communities was ‘ahead of the game’ as the Localism Bill goes through Parliament, which will try and make local people decide what they want to do with their local area. Griff said “It’s a positive thing if people are involved in understanding their local area. I am such a believer in local involvement and at the very least making an audit of what is valuable to the community is an important first step.”
PLANED Vice-Chairman Robin Mogg said: ‘We are delighted that Griff has been so supportive of this initiative as the website celebrates the excellent work of local communities over a number of years and answers the much asked question “What does PLANED do?”. The website offers the facility to include details of community events and activities and we encourage local people to see us as the one-stop shop for all things community’.
In addition to featuring community activities there are numerous publications which can now be accessed, detailing a wealth of information whether energy and recycling, festival and events, heritage, tourism, environment, agriculture business and much more.
