Amroth Cottages are a group of 5* self-catered cottages located in Furzewood Farm, Amroth, Pembrokeshire. The cottages sit high above the bay with spectacular views of the Gower and Caldey Island and boast 9 acres of grounds with grassy areas to play and lots of wildlife. The cottages are open all year and can be booked for short breaks or weekends during the winter months.
Amroth cottages already had a website but approached us to help them revamp their whole site. The first thing we noticed was the design of the existing site was not flexible, which means when it was opened using different browsers or screen sizes, the website did not fit. We changed this to a liquid design which accommodates all browsers, screen resolutions, operating systems and monitors.
We decided to change the homepage to a simple layout with a slideshow of images displaying the beautiful cottages and wildlife with quick links to view each cottage. This simplistic design makes it much easier for users to navigate and shows off the striking images.
All images were updated using the more recent pictures to make sure the website was up to date and a gallery was created allowing users to enlarge pictures for a better look.
The whole revamped website was designed around a full content management system which allows updating of all content by Amroth cottages including news blogs, videos and activities.
