Visit Wales is the official website for tourism in Wales run by the Welsh government. It’s the site to hop on to for a host of information about beautiful Wales, whether you’re a tourist holidaying here or a local looking for new places to visit. Their ambition is to grow the Welsh tourism industry, which in turn will boost the economy as well as have environmental, cultural and health benefits for the country.

the brief

Visit Wales asked us to join them on a roadshow covering north, mid and south Wales and our vibrant capital city, Cardiff. The focus was on upskilling tourism information leaders by providing workshops – although Wales is so spectacular that teaching people how to sing its praises to the rest of the world wasn’t too difficult for us.

With a wide demographic, the sessions needed to be easy to understand and relate to all things tourism to make sure the participants could implement our advice in their day-to-day work.

the solution

Our team curated a bespoke workshop which covered a range of digital marketing topics whilst relating everything to tourism. This included advice on social media, email marketing, QR squares linking to landing pages, as well as understanding their audience and how to target them more effectively. Once we created the perfect workshop, we headed out on the road with the excellent Visit Wales crew to deliver it to the tourism leaders with great results.
