The Circular Economy Innovation Communities (CEIC) is a project which helps public service groups in South Wales work together to develop new service solutions to existing circular economy challenges, ensuring resources are used, reused, and repurposed as effectively as possible, and for as long as possible. Funded by the Welsh Government and the European Social Fund, the CEIC project is a collaboration between Swansea University and Cardiff Metropolitan University.
The CEIC team already had a website but wanted to upgrade to a more user-friendly platform with fresher, more engaging content to better attract their target audience and encourage more visitors to take action once on the landing pages. They were keen for the site to be reflective of their quality brand, professional approach and third sector status as well as have the added functionality to enable clients to book and engage with the organisation as seamlessly as possible.
They also needed to have the capacity to add landing pages and fully manage the website themselves going forward, so a user-friendly CMS was a key part of the brief.
We have a fair bit of experience in working with third sector organisations, so are well-practised at delivering websites that fit their unique needs. Our team created a great-looking, informative, on brand website with professionally written, SEO focussed content that has everything the CEIC team needs to help them generate enquiries, build awareness, and promote their workshops. The fully responsive custom design means users have a seamless experience across the board, whether they’re using a desktop, tablet or mobile. We also made sure that there were plenty of calls to action throughout the site to encourage a higher click through rate. Other added features included a simple enquiry form, Live Chat, and functions to enable clients to book a free consultation through Calendly and Insight Events. As being able to update content and manage the website in-house was a key part of the brief, we made sure that the team had an easy-to-use WordPress CMS and comprehensive training on how to use it.
As is the case with every website, top quality images were an integral part of communicating what CEIC are all about and making the website look the part. We added a bold hero image of workshops in action to give visitors an immediate glimpse into what the experience would offer and the CEIC team supplied us with all the relevant visuals we needed for the site.
We always like working with third sector organisations because of the positive and vital role they play, whether it’s across our local communities in Wales, the wider UK or globally.
Playing our part in helping them to reach a larger audience and make more of an impact is definitely one of the more satisfying parts of our job!
