Located in the heart of Pembrokeshire in West Wales Haverfordwest Castle Museum preserves and showcases the history of the region through engaging exhibits. Situated in the former Governor’s House, the museum offers visitors a rich insight into local archaeology, Pembrokeshire’s past, and the medieval castle’s role in Welsh history.

Their old current website was past its prime, hard to update and in desperate need of revamping, both in terms of functionality and in showcasing the new museum venue and revitalisation project.

The team tasked us with delivering a modern and impactful website, with seamless navigation and bold calls to action throughout.

the solution

Our team delivered a clean, simple interface and fast intuitive navigation, optimised for all devices. We incorporated a blog feed, What’s On section, and Mailchimp newsletter integration to keep users up to date with news and events. We also added a straightforward donation page to make raising funds even easier. The museum team now has an easy to manage website and a range of ‘how to’ videos to help them update the site going forward.

Obviously, we needed to include epic shots of Haverfordwest castle and the town, as well as museum artifacts. But the real standout of this project is the animated graphic illustration on the homepage. Lovingly crafted from scratch by our designer, it evokes the history and spirit of the place while adding a fresh, modern touch.
