The Victoria Inn Brewhouse is a traditional 18th century pub in the village of Roch, Pembrokeshire, near the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. A popular spot with visitors and locals, the pub offers great food and they’ve got an award-winning real ale brewery on-site. 

the brief

The team at Victoria Inn reached out with a clear objective – it was time for a change, so they tasked us with rejuvenating the website and giving things a much more modern feel.

The existing site didn’t have the crucial e-commerce capabilities that a business like theirs needed, so that was something we had to prioritise in the build.

the solution

The new site went live in July 2023, complete with the e-commerce functionality in addition to some other handy features like a downloadable menu, integrated enquiry form, blog, and links to social media accounts so Victoria Inn’s customers could stay up to date with what’s on. 

The e-commerce function made meeting the high volume of online orders for its beers much easier and streamlined everything from table reservations and takeaway food orders to accommodation bookings (which needed a fair amount of back-end work from us to sort out the necessary third-party integration). 

With its new e-commerce platform, the Victoria Inn can easily monitor sales across several revenue streams. And we also installed a Google Map integration to make finding the pub nice and simple.

Highlighting the food, ales and accommodation were the main focus here, so we packed the site with top notch images of everything the Victoria Inn Brewhouse has to offer. It also gives users an idea of what an incredible location the pub lies in on the edge of the sweeping St Brides Bay. 

other challenges

As with any e-commerce site, the primary function was to make sales. We had to make it fast, easy and intuitive for customers to navigate, book and buy with the absolute minimum hassle.

So that’s what we did, creating a site with seamless functionality and an enhanced, simplified user experience.
