Pritchard Cowburn are a well established opticians with practices in both Cardigan and Narberth in West Wales. With many years of professional experience, they’re trusted experts in the area and offer a wide range of frames and lenses as well as high-tech eye examination services.

the brief

The Pritchard Cowburn team were after a fresh face for their old website, so tasked us with giving it a glamorous makeover.

Although the back end of the old site was still functioning ok, the design was a bit tired and outdated – it’s a competitive market and they felt they were falling behind with their online presence. So, the main brief for the new website was to make it fresh, on-trend and informative.

the solution

For a company that’s all about vision, we obviously needed to make sure the site looked good. We crafted a bespoke design for our friends at Pritchard Cowburn, using a stylish, warm colour palette to completement the high-spec professional supplier images of the lenses and frames. The content is short and sweet and gives customers all the information they need to know in a nutshell.

In terms of functionality, we added plenty of CTAs and a user-friendly ‘request an appointment form’ which gives customers the ability to select their preferred practice, date and time. The old website had a great SEO ranking within Google, so to keep this we brought over the sitemap and added 301 redirects to the hosting environment. This meant that no broken links were left to cause trouble and the SEO ranking wasn’t affected by the site migration.

Using sleek, modern images that conveyed both the high quality of their eyewear and the professionalism of their service was the order of the day here. The pictures also have a very contemporary look that fits the brief like a glove.

This project was a dream, quite honestly – one of the smoothest we’ve ever worked on!
