When Lyndon and Louise took over The Angel, a beautiful 18th century inn in the heart of Narberth, they knew they had to transform the building and the business. Together they created an elegant bar and restaurant, welcoming sun terrace and refurbished accommodation that blends old-world charm with the best of contemporary design. With both classic and contemporary cuisine on the menu, The Angel offers seasonal lunch and dinner options using the finest local produce. Its cosy bar is a great place to unwind, plus it’s stocked with award-winning Welsh craft ales, gins and whiskies.
The inn didn’t have a website, but having worked us with on earlier business projects, Lyndon and Louise asked the Web Adept team to make it happen. Pembrokeshire is a popular tourist destination, renowned for its great pubs and outstanding food, so they needed something that would help them stand out from the crowd.
They tasked us with creating a good-looking website that grabbed people’s attention and also made it supremely easy for customers to connect.
The brief included integrating a ‘book a table’ feature enabling users to book without making phone calls or sending emails. As the inn’s rooms were being refurbished, having an easy-to-use CMS system to keep website visitors in the loop about when the rooms will be available was also important. Plus, the system needed to allow the owners and staff to update information about the rooms and show new images.
We delivered a clean, impactful website using stunning images and compelling copy, embedding a ResDiary widget on the booking page to allow users to book direct from the website. Simple, seamless, effective.
We also added an enquiry form as well as calls to action for phone calls and emails to cater for those users who prefer a more traditional approach. The website has an interactive Google map and other valuable user information such as FAQs, the inn’s dog policy, its opening times, information about the area, and the menus.
We knew the team at The Angel Narberth wanted the website to capture as many sales leads as possible, so we added a ‘gift voucher enquiry’ feature enabling customers to buy a voucher as a treat for someone else for a birthday, anniversary etc.
When it comes to marketing food, drink and accommodation, fantastic images are an absolute essential, especially in such a competitive sector. In this case, Lydon and Louise’s restaurant makeover was a labour of love and done to extremely high standards. The gorgeous images on the website do a great job of showing customers the unique character, style and ambiance of the physical space.
As the boutique accommodation was in the process of being renovated at the time we created the site, we knew some of the content would need to change after launch.
Being the very accommodating team that we are, we made sure that everything could be easily amended via the WordPress CMS operating system and gave the Angel team some bespoke training to ensure everything goes smoothly.
We gave Web Adept a challenging brief and they delivered, again. Thanks to the team there for their patience and bearing with us as we made changes to that brief as the website project progressed. I would thoroughly recommend using Web Adept to any other businesses looking to create a new website.
