Founded by Wales and London Blue Badge Tourist Guide Ildi, sustainable tour company Wales Trails offers guided trips in Wales in English, Portuguese, Spanish and Hungarian. As passionate about Wales as she is about giving customers once-in-a-lifetime experiences, Ildi is an Eryri (Snowdonia) Ambassador and a qualified Hill and Moorland Leader. Catering to groups, adults, and families with children too, each Wales Trails trip is tailored to clients’ interests, including Wales by rail, guided hikes, North Wales tours, shore excursions and tours both from and in Cardiff.

the brief

Ildi asked us for a sleek, straightforward brochure website that will help her build a strong regional brand alongside her London-based tour business. As a dedicated platform for her tours in Wales, Ildi wanted this site to have a page for each tour she offers, with a simple drop-down feature to make it easy to explore the various categories.

The website also had to convey Ildi’s client-first mindset, and the high-quality, customised services clients can expect from her brand.

the solution

We delivered a clean, bright, and impactful website with a simple, intuitive layout and prominent calls to action throughout. The uncluttered design makes it easy for visitors to navigate with just a few clicks and keeps information overload to a minimum whilst still giving customers all the key content they need. We also made sure that the website is translated into Spanish and Portuguese as well as English to boost search engine results and help Ildi reach a wider audience.

The vivid colours, bold graphics and top-quality images on this site really make it pop from the screen. As well as scenic shots of wonderful Wales, we added plenty of pictures of the guides and groups to give the site a fun, friendly feel that helps communicate the brand’s person-centred ethos and build trust.

other challenges

A confusing domain link to Ildi’s current site was causing problems as the lack of translation meant it wasn’t being picked up by search engines. Fortunately, sorting out tricky domain issues is something we’ve got lots of experience in.

Our team promptly ironed out all the rough spots to ensure Ildi had the best possible chance of improving her visibility in search results.
