A key player in the growing global renewable energy sector, Cierco are trusted experts in the development, construction, installation, and operation of offshore wind turbines. Their innovative, large commercial scale projects in the UK and US put them firmly at the forefront of companies spearheading the cleaner, greener energy revolution.

the brief

The team at Cierco Energy tasked us with developing a new, modern website that better reflected a company of their global standing, with a particular focus on highlighting their impressive Llyr, Cademo & Forthwind project portfolio.

They also wanted to highlight the talented people behind the scenes who work hard to deliver their vision. As well as crafting the website, they wanted to make the most of our ongoing hosting and support services

the solution

We worked with the very collaborative Cierco team to create a responsive, agile site with a clean, fresh look that both suited the brand and its sector, whilst also giving stakeholders the information they need with the fewest clicks possible.

The project portfolio was particularly important to get right. To do that, we added a dedicated Projects page with a global map and simple location cards to give a general overview, with project specific link boxes below for easy navigation. We also created a sleek Meet the Team page with short, snappy personal profiles and links to the individuals’ LinkedIn pages to ease professional networking.

In fact, Cierco liked our work so much that they decided to move their individual installation websites for Llyr, Cademo and Forthwind over to us for hosting.

Copy can only convey so much when it comes to a portfolio like this, so top quality images played a vital role in giving a clearer snapshot of the nature and scope of Cierco Energy’s global projects. It also helped give a techy brand a more personal side by introducing the dedicated teams across the world who drive their ambition to deliver more efficient, sustainable energy systems.

other challenges

A lack of high spec images was the main problem at the outset. Quality visuals that illustrate, educate and help the customer connect with the brand are such an important aspect of any website, so getting that right was definitely high on the priorities list. Luckily, their team came up with the goods, sourcing a range of fantastic in house and stock images that really fit the brief in getting the right message across and giving the site a more expansive, quality feel.

With so many global responsibilities, it wasn’t possible for us to meet the Cierco team in person, so this was a fully remote project. Not that little things like that phase us – we’re always flexible in the way we work and have digital communication down to a fine art, so physical distance is never a problem.
