The brief was to create an engaging, informative, user-focussed and creative directory site with intuitive map and drop-down search functions. It needed to give visitors a seamless user journey, while also being easy for the guides themselves to manage and update.

Accessibility and inclusivity were key factors that had to be front and centre of the design process. As a forward-thinking group, the Wales Best Guides team also wanted to ensure the site has the capacity to evolve and scale as the organisation grows.

We produced a feel-good, fully functional and super responsive website that ticks all the boxes. Everything is designed to help the user and the team have the best experience possible when using the platform, and it has plenty of interactive features to bring guides and tourists closer together. With newsletter integration, an interactive map, blog area, members area, interactive directory, easy to manage CMS, tour calendar and multi-language functions added, this is a site that will serve the team well, both now and for the future.

With exploring Wales being the prime focus of the business, the site had to be packed with inviting images that highlight the spectacular tour locations across the country and give visitors a true taste of the experiences that await.

As well as making the website as user-friendly as possible for visitors, it had to be equally accessible for the guides who would be using its many features and adding content. We always give our clients training on how to use a Web Adept website but here our remit went even further, given the complexity of the site and the large number of back-end users.
